Social Media Strategist

As Iterative’s first social media hire, you will help craft the vision, create the strategy, and lead the execution of Iterative’s existing and future social media channels. Working closely with multiple internal teams, you’ll help create engaging content, establish processes, and set goals to ensure our channels help make entrepreneurship more accessible in Southeast Asia.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategy and Experimentation– Develop and execute a social media strategy of your creation based on what you’ve learned in your previous experiences and experiments you run at Iterative. That could be new campaigns, mediums or completely new channels.
  • Campaign and Content Creation– Work with our content team to produce original content across different formats (written, video, etc) and help promote our existing content (including videos, blog articles, threads, etc) in new ways.
  • Develop Social Infrastructure– Set processes and choose the technology that supports the execution of our social activities, collaboration with the team and consistent learnings that you incorporate into the strategy.
  • Branding– Help define our online voice and persona. Ensure all copy, videos, and posts are consistent with that voice and persona.
  • Data Analysis– Track engagement rates, sentiment analysis, and user feedback. Provide analysis and learnings to the rest of the team. Utilize those learnings to refine social strategies and drive growth.
  • Community– Engage and interact with followers, subscribers or people interested in our content.

Who You Are

  • Proven Experience– You have a proven track record of growing a brand via social media (across different platforms) and storytelling.
  • Highly Curious– You are curious about entrepreneurship or a very curious person in general (ideally both). You’ll be distributing and creating content across a wide spectrum of topics from personal stories (why did you start your company, how did you meet your co-founder, etc.) to educational content (how to fundraise, how to tell if your idea is good, etc.). We find that people who are curious have more enthusiasm for the work and therefore do better.
  • Organized– You have good planning and coordination skills. You’ll be working with our internal team members as well as external stakeholders (founders, users, service providers, etc) to create and schedule the posts, which requires having good timeline management.
  • Copywriting– You have good copywriting skills, and it’s a bonus if you also have experience in visual designing or video editing. We don’t expect you to be an expert in writing, designing or editing as you can work with service providers, but having a good eye for copy and design will be helpful for this role.
  • Growth Mindset– You have a growth mindset. Meaning you can and will learn whatever you need to get the job done. You’re comfortable stretching your existing skills or learning completely new ones.
  • Communication– You have strong communication skills whether verbal, written, or in presentations.
  • Analytical– You are deeply analytical and comfortable understanding and manipulating data to gain and take action on business insights.
  • New, NewTrendspotter – You’re immersed in internet culture and can use that knowledge to identify trends, creators and opportunities for Iterative.

What to Expect

  • Fully Remote– You’ll be able to work remotely and (mostly) set your own schedule.
  • Flexibility– You’ll have a lot of flexibility in your role, and will be able to help define what our operations infrastructure looks like going forward.
  • Dynamic– We’re an early-stage startup. Projects and priorities are likely to shift. You should be comfortable with a dash of chaos. This is not the kind of job where you show up and we tell you exactly what to do every day.
