Senior Platform Engineer

What you'll do:

⭐ Champion developer experience by designing and implementing tools, frameworks, and platforms that empower engineering teams to build, test, and deploy with confidence and efficiency.

⭐ Build and maintain internal developer platforms, including CI/CD pipelines, development environments, and self-service infrastructure tools that accelerate team productivity.

⭐ Design and implement highly typed systems using TypeScript across the entire stack, ensuring type safety, better IDE support, and reduced runtime errors.

⭐ Create comprehensive documentation for platform services, APIs, and development workflows, making complex systems accessible to both technical and product teams.

⭐ Architect and build end-to-end solutions from concept to production, demonstrating execution discipline through iterative development, testing, and deployment.

⭐ Lead serverless and cloud-native initiatives, leveraging AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and other managed services to build scalable, cost-effective platforms.

⭐ Develop reusable libraries and SDKs in TypeScript, providing consistent interfaces and reducing cognitive load for development teams.

⭐ Establish and enforce platform standards including code quality metrics, security policies, and architectural patterns across the organization.

⭐ Articulate technical vision and roadmap to stakeholders, translating platform capabilities into business value and development velocity improvements.

⭐ Mentor teams on platform best practices, conducting workshops, code reviews, and architecture discussions to elevate engineering capabilities.

⭐ Optimize developer workflows through automation, tooling improvements, and feedback loop acceleration, reducing time from code to production.

⭐ Build observability and monitoring solutions that provide actionable insights into platform health, performance, and developer productivity metrics.

Who you are:

⭐ 5+ years of platform engineering experience, with demonstrated success building developer platforms and internal tools that significantly improved engineering productivity.

⭐ Developer experience advocate with a track record of identifying and eliminating friction points in development workflows, passionate about making developers' lives easier.

⭐ Expert-level TypeScript proficiency, including advanced type systems, generics, conditional types, and building type-safe APIs and SDKs.

⭐ Strong fundamentals in developer experience, understanding build tools, testing frameworks, debugging workflows, and local development environments.

⭐ Proven ability to articulate technical direction, creating clear architectural decision records (ADRs) and presenting platform strategies to technical and non-technical audiences.

⭐ Exceptional documentation skills, able to write technical documentation, API references, onboarding guides, and architectural diagrams for diverse audiences.

⭐ Demonstrated execution discipline, with experience taking platform initiatives from ideation through implementation, deployment, and adoption at scale.

⭐ Deep expertise in cloud and serverless architectures, particularly AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Step Functions, CDK/CloudFormation).

⭐ Experience with infrastructure as code using TypeScript-based tools like AWS CDK, Pulumi, or similar, treating infrastructure with the same rigor as application code.

⭐ Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) with focus on developer-friendly abstractions and self-service capabilities.

⭐ Strong background in API design, including GraphQL, REST, gRPC, and event-driven architectures, with emphasis on developer ergonomics.

⭐ Experience with mono-repo management and tooling (Nx, Turborepo, Rush), understanding the complexities of large-scale TypeScript codebases.

⭐ Track record of building platform teams, fostering a culture of innovation, reliability, and developer-centricity.
